Aki Rogers

Born in Japan. For many years I have been designing art, using a wide variety of materials such as textile, clay and metal, more recently using my drawing skills to transpose onto glass, utilising the light fused within my drawings, enhancing the unique qualities that glass offers. 
I am inspired by the organic world such as nature, plants and animals, humans and their emotions. I capture and emulate these elements into my artwork. 
Glassworks are mostly hand painted images in kiln-formed or architectural fields. Every piece is a unique and one off design.
I create illustrations from my paintings and used in picture books. Readers find a familiarity from my works and evoke a story like response.
